The very first edition of the Best Picture I Saw This Week includes a rug typo, a crazy looking dog and a jaw-dropping movie shot.
I try to be as vigilant as possible in saving every great photo I see on the Internet. I thought that with my new website format, it would be easy to fire off a few of them each Friday (or most Fridays, we’ll see) to make sure they get the due they deserve.
Here is the Best Picture I Saw This Week…
Second runner up: “In Dog We Trust”
The Pinellas (Fla.) County Sheriff’s Office ordered a new rug at in December for their headquarters in Largo, Florida. It featured their badge. Only somehow, someone made a typo — and the rug sat out for three weeks with the slogan reading, “In Dog We Trust.” The rug sold last week at an auction to raise money for a shelter for injured and abandoned dogs.
First runner up: Dachbull?
This pitbull-dachshund mix showed up at a rescue shelter in Georgia — and now people are fighting for the chance to adopt him. Who can resist a dog that looks like the product of so-so CGI?
The winner!
This is an actual shot from Sean Connery in the 1974 sci-fi film Zardoz. (Here’s more.) And you thought Bo Derek’s bikini scene in 10 was the hottest bathing suit scene from the ’70s.
