The unique and extremely popular [citation needed] authority on pop culture since 2008

The debut episode of my new web series, 11 Points Countdown, features my fiancee and we talk about Valentine’s Day gifts.

It’s been a goal of mine for a few years now to create a video series based on 11 Points and I’m thrilled to announce that day has finally arrived.

Today, I’m presenting a sneak preview of one of the three pilot episodes we filmed of 11 Points Countdown — a web show where a rotating group of co-hosts join me to count down (and joke/argue about) the results of pop culture surveys. (For those of you who voted in the survey I posted about the best Valentine’s Day gifts and best new 2011-12 TV shows, this is what those were for.)

We’re putting out the sneak preview of this pilot episode today because it was Valentine’s Day themed — so I couldn’t really debut it in a few weeks. This isn’t a Treehouse of Horror episode airing in November after all.

So, without any more exposition, please check out the 11 Best Valentine’s Day Gifts with my first co-host, G4 and FearNet’s Angie Greenup. (Who also happens to be engaged to me.)

And now, to answer a few questions. Eleven, specifically — so that this isn’t the first time ever posting a non-11-item list on this website…

1 | Yes, there will be more episodes soon

We have a few pilot episodes left and will be airing at least one video a week once the series officially begins (this is just a sneak preview).

2 | No, this won’t replace the writing on 11 Points

I will still have the same level and quantity of written content as before. This is just more, new, different content.

3 | Yes, I will do a better job publicizing the voting for future episodes

4 | Yes, my face is flushed in the video

This was the third episode we filmed and I got hot. Also, I’m horrifically un-tan.

5 | Yes, we really were drinking

Even though we filmed this at approximately 10 a.m. while the bar was still closed.

6 | No, it’s not a laugh track

That’s the crew and a few friends in the audience participating.

7 | Yes, I will do a better job in the future not holding the cue cards in front of my face

8 | No, we didn’t know the survey results ahead of time

I had one of the producers tabulate the results and write them on the cards. I wanted everything to be improvised and spontaneous.

9 | Yes, there are a lot of little things I plan to tweak in the show

But, in general, I was thrilled at how well our pilot shoot went.

10 | Yes, you can come hang out at a future taping

In fact, I’m really hoping some people want to do that. More details will come once the show is officially rolling.

11 | Yes, I have very high hopes for this
