A proctology tool, disappointed nun and rogue seagull all make the cut.

Welcome to another edition of the Best Picture I Saw This Week…

Second runner up: “Patrick.”

I understand that future proctologists need to train and there might not always be a human volunteering up a test rectum. I understand that even though the above photo looks goofy, it depicts a necessary and important advancement in modern technology. What I don’t understand is why the creators of this device (from the University of Florida, University of Wisconsin and Drexel University) decided to give this stunt butt a name. “Patrick.”

First runner up: Nun too happy

I don’t have any context for this photo (it was posted without comment earlier this week on Reddit). But it’s spectacular. Also, who knew nuns liked Frappuccinos?

The winner!

An 18-year-old photography student in Wales took this photo at an air show last weekend, perfectly framing a seagull as it photobombed a symmetrical arrangement of fighter jets. And even better? When she was asked how she captured such a spot-on picture, she honestly and confidently said, “It was mainly luck.”
