When the news has a blooper, it has a BLOOPER.
There was a great news screw-up posted on Break.com last week (it’s featured in the list below as the third item)… which inspired me to start compiling my favorite videos of news bloopers, mistakes, screw-ups, Freudian slips and disasters.
Here’s are some of the best ones ever, in no particular order…
1 | But… he’s gay
This anchorwoman (in Albuquerque) is setting up an interview and makes a giant slip about what makes their interview subject unique.
2 | Jenny from the block
Shepard Smith on FOX News is talking about Jennifer Lopez, and how her song “Jenny From the Block” was received in her old Bronx neighborhood. And… he makes a Freudian slip…
3 | Not the first time
?
Apparently, this news anchor in Philadelphia has some info that this female co-worker of his is of questionable moral turpitude.
4 | Reporter shoulder blocks Ohio State fan
This reporter doesn’t like drunk sports fans. But he knows that a drunk girl is always a wobbly target.
5 | Kevin Everett
This was just a terrible job by the team producing the news here. The sports anchor is talking about Kevin Everett, the Buffalo Bills player who suffered a spinal injury during a game, making him lose the use of his legs. But the footage that plays is of a different man in a wheelchair.
6 | Cat attack
This reporter in Cleveland is doing a story about some people who abused cats, and decides/is told to hold a cat while she talks. The cat… is not on board.
7 | Mispronouncing “title”
Anyone who’s good enough at speaking English to get a national on-air gig should know that the word “title” is pronounced “ty-tul.” Unless something is clearly distracting him.
8 | Spanking?
One anchor poses a question to another anchor: Did you get many spankings as a kid? And she responds in the worst way possible.
9 | Put THAT on the news
It’s not clear how this reporter in Jacksonville infuriated this woman… but she was really, really, really angry at him for some reason.
10 | The classic grape stomp
This is an all-time legendary video. If you’ve never seen it, it’s about stomping grapes. And includes a tremendous fall.
11 | “It’s much deeper back there”
This is from the Today show, back when Katie Couric was still on, and it’s one of my all-time favorite videos. A reporter is doing a segment live, from a flood. And the flood’s so bad, she’s in a canoe.
At least, that’s what we think… until two guys walk through the back of the shot, revealing that the canoe is there COMPLETELY to trick us into thinking the flood is worse than it is. Matt Lauer and Katie Couric just rail on this woman after she’s done.
